Real quick — What do Kanye West, Michael Vick, and Chris Brown have in common? No one gives a s**t about their apologies. Mr. West, Mr. West, you made America’s sweetheart cry and for that, you must be forced to walk around with unusual designs shaved onto your head. Oh, what’s that? He already had those designs on his head?

Only Kanye West could get the whole nation to rally behind country music.

Regal.

The Lakers/FC Barcelona matchup was fun to watch. During an arduous time like the pre-season, it can become a bit boring watching the same games over and over again, so it was refreshing to change things up a bit. The stark differences between international basketball and the game here in the US was clearly evident. Luckily, the Lakers have several great all-around players who adapt easily to any pace and style.

A couple of things caught my eye. Jordan Farmar and Trevor Ariza, both former UCLA Bruins, connected on a number of baskets. They need a nickname, ASAP.  If Chris Rock and Kanye West had a kid, he would look exactly like Brandon Heath.

I love how even though Sarah Palin made her way onto SNL this weekend, the writers still managed to find a way to make fun of her. Musical guest Adele did her thing. Her soulful voice is so soothing, I almost went to sleep watching her. Almost.

Lockdown.

If anyone ever gets the chance to watch Kanye West perform live in concert, please capitalize on that opportunity. He’s a performer. I couldn’t pass up the chance of free tickets because, well I don’t think I’ll get the chance to see this guy again in his prime any time soon, let alone without paying a cent. And thanks to some friends, I got a front row view. I lost my voice, but it was well worth it.

It was a packed house at the El Capitan Theatre. Tickets went up yesterday and word obviously got around pretty fast. Once the chorus hit during “Love Lockdown,” chills went down my spine. But it could have been either the speakers or the ginormous drums that were used. In any event, it was quite an experience.

One thing you won’t see on tv is Kanye messing up the lyrics on two occasions and apologizing for it. Yet, each time he performed the song, it just kept getting better. You can catch part of his set on ABC right now, if you’re quick enough. I’ll post the video soon once I find it.
