Turkey.

I’ve been putting together an online portfolio of my recent work. Nothing too special or permanent, just something for me to have, because it is useful. As soon as it’s finished and up and running, I’ll be sure to post it.

An early Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I just got back from Long Beach and I was greeted with more rain than I have seen in a long time. I’m speaking as a Californian, so how much rain could it possibly be, right? I don’t like rain, but I haven’t been complaining. It’s a nice change of pace, and besides, rain is a clear indication of winter time, which is definitely a good thing. For some strange reason, ever since I was a kid, it was always easier for me to go to sleep to the sound of heavy rain. ‘Til this day, I enjoy staying home on rainy days for that purpose alone. It’s soothing.

I’m looking forward to eating an unhealthy amount of food tomorrow. We get presents for Christmas, and we get food for Thanksgiving. So it’s only appropriate I take full advantage of the opportunity presented and eat until I can eat no more. Leftovers usually last weeks too, which explains the issue of holiday weight-gain.

Speaking of food, I’ve noticed that there’s a common misconception out there that Filipinos don’t eat turkey during Thanksgiving. I guess my family is the exception because we always have some form of it. It’s not necessarily that turkey is that good. It isn’t. It’s thick, dry, and hard to swallow (that’s what she said). But it’s tradition, so we always cook one. But anywho, don’t be afraid to eat. You’ll be missing out.
