lost

I’m not an avid user of Facebook. It’s probably because I still haven’t really figured out how to use it. But one of the more entertaining things that I’ve noticed recently are the top five lists that every user seems to be compiling. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — I love lists. They serve little to no purpose, but it doesn’t matter. Maybe it’s indicative of how I find the need to prioritize everything in my life according to importance. Or maybe they’re just fun to read.

In either case, I think lists really say a lot about a person. And they reveal a hell of a lot more than any “Which Desperate Housewife Character are You?” quiz could ever do. So rather than try to figure out how to use facebook apps, I would much rather post my lists here. First up, my list of the five best television shows on right now:

————–

1. Lost
Because there isn’t, nor has there ever been, a better hour of television. No other show contains as much substance and depth as this one. And it will be a sad day when it all ends a year from now.

2. The Office
Because everyone stopped comparing this to the UK version. The show finally has its own identity and has only gotten better and more satisfying with age. That’s what she said.

3. Saturday Night Live
Because it’s been the comedic constant in my life since I was a young lad. I’m a loyal dude, and I won’t leave when times get tough. It’s a good thing this current young crop has brought the funny.

4. 30 Rock
Because Tina Fey is a genius. And because I still can’t tell if Tracy Morgan is acting, or if that’s just how he is.  I could watch this show for days.

5. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Because it’s dirty, inappropriate, and at times, just plain wrong. And no other show has dared to match that.
