parks and recreation

The new Office spin-off, Parks and Recreation, made its debut this week. Amy Poehler was long overdue for her own show. But the best part is the return of Rashida Jones to sitcom television (thank heavens). It’s been too long.

Pilot episodes usually don’t contain any mind-blowing scenes and merely serve as a means of introducing all the new faces you’ll potentially be following every week. And that’s pretty much what this was. Aziz Ansari and Paul Schneider lead the rest of the cast. I remember seeing Schneider in All The Real Girls and Lars and the Real Girl, and although he was a good actor in both those roles, he just seemed incredibly boring to me. My hope is he doesn’t single-handedly bring down this show.

Highlights include Amy Poehler drunk, singing while drunk, and Amy Poehler unintentionally rolling down a giant pit. The possibilities are endless.
