I saw some images a couple friends made of their faces covered in Joker make-up. I had some free time yesterday morning and decided to make my own. My favorite part of the piece definitely has to be the scars around the mouth. It took quite a bit of time, but was actually pretty enjoyable to make.

I contemplated changing the background, but felt this simple one worked much better with the dark tone of the film. This is my tribute to Mr. Heath Ledger’s performance. Hope you enjoy.

Typically, when earthquakes take place, I’m in my bed sleeping. The closest thing I’ve gotten to an earthquake was a simulation bus in 3rd grade. So when my house started shaking this morning, a couple miles away from the epicenter, I wasn’t quite sure what was going on.

I obviously felt my whole house shake from every direction, but by the time I fully comprehended the situation, it ended a few seconds later. So yes, that’s the update from here. I’m okay, in case you were wondering.

Luckily, there doesn’t seem to be any damage around my area. I know other cities had it much worse. I felt a small aftershock, but hopefully, things are beginning to settle down.

Save Sasha.

I have avoided blogging anything Lakers related for quite some time. The pain still hurts. But I have to say something. I don’t think the Lakers actually realize just how important Sasha Vujacic is to this team. The Machine is threatening to leave the Lakers to play in either Spain or Italy if the Lakers don’t offer him a contract more to his liking.

Please. Mitch, Jerry, Jeanie, whoever. Give the man what he wants. Let us get on with what looks to be a very promising season. Let your voice be heard, Lakers fans. Save Sasha.

UPDATE: Sasha has been saved.

I’ve made my decision. From now on, I’ll know what to say whenever that boring conversation comes along when someone decides to ask who my favorite actor is. I will respond confidently with an emphatic answer: Morgan Freeman. There is no one else. It’s Morgan Freeman’s world, and we’re all just living in it.

I just finished watching Million Dollar Baby (very powerful story, I must say), and I came to the conclusion that I will never get tired of seeing this man act. Remember that movie Bruce Almighty? Do you know who Morgan Freeman played in that film?

God. That’s who. Who else could pull that off? No one.

P.S. If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m really trying to make good use of my renewed Netflix subscription so if you notice a great amount of entries dealing with movies, you’ll know why.

Midnight showing last night….this morning? Believe the hype — The Dark Knight was an amazing movie. How rarely does a sequel surpass its predecessor? Very rarely. Heath Ledger’s performance was pretty incredible, to say the least. I was huge fan of Jack Nicholson and the 1989 version, but Heath Ledger is definitely the real Joker.

The film makes all four previous Batman movies look like a complete joke (no pun intended). Remember Batman & Robin? Unfortunately, so do I. What a mess. Kudos to Christopher Nolan for reviving the franchise and finally making a Batman movie the way it was supposed to be made.

Headed to Nokia Theater for the first time. It’s a nice building. It’s not that large a venue so it’s definitely ideal for concerts. ESPY Awards were entertaining — Justin Timberlake did a solid job as host. I felt bad for Derek Fisher, as he was the only Laker who showed up. Meanwhile, the entire Boston Celtics team along with their first and second cousins made their way to LA. Yes, I am still bitter.

That’s Davidson star Stephen Curry sitting next to me, along with his father/former NBA player Dell Curry. Carmelo Anthony and his wife Lala (I had no idea) were sitting directly behind me, but I couldn’t pull off a photo.

Lupe Fiasco performed during commercial breaks the whole night. I wasn’t sure if it was him, but as soon as I saw him with his SB’s on, I knew. I’ll leave with this photo:
